my fellow champion of pushing into the creative and courageous unknown, i love this. in business, in marketing, in life! and thank you for the book plug:) so glad you enjoyed it.
Great article! It seems that we share a similar algorithm because I also get the ‘Mr. Beast YouTube formulas’ and the ‘Diary of a CEO trailer tutorials’… I just wanted to say that having worked for years as EP for TV and digital, formats are a passion for me. However, I find it hard to follow a format when creating my own content. I guess, as they say in english, ‘the shoemaker's son always goes barefoot’. Any suggestions?
I can’t say that it always works, but I sometimes will try to imagine myself as a client and to pretend that I have to make a show for the client. It forces me to look at what makes me unique, what I enjoy doing, what other might value, etc, and to come up with a format from that. I had trouble figuring out how to market my book a couple of years ago and used this strategy to come up with the idea of a mockumentary about marketing the book, with a fake book marketing agency, a fake agent, etc. I had so much fun doing it!
Another thoughtful and challenging post from my son Steve.

Great idea
It’s also an extraordinarily challenging time to be a consumer. And yes, exhausting. Beyond disappointing how things are evolving (and so fast).
Glad we have you and your optimism, pointing out how to react and keep going! Inspiring as ever.
